The Right to Life Educational
Foundation of Kentucky was incorporated in 1979 with a primary goal of promoting
through education the respect for the sanctity of all human life from
fertilization to natural death. Kentucky Right to Life Association and some of
its chapters were in place in 1973, but a solely educational organization
was needed. Education is the key to awakening the sense of responsibility in
our young people and adults to protect human life. Use the tabs on the
left to navigate to important information on the life topics.
What Prompted the Educational
Foundation?
The need for an educational arm
became critically evident January 22, 1973, when the United States Supreme Court
issued its Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions, legalizing the
killing of preborn babies in their mother's wombs, now resulting in over 37
million babies aborted as of 1998. Countless numbers of women victimized by
abortion have been devastated physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Increasingly, assisted suicide
and euthanasia jeopardize the lives of others including the newborn, the
disabled and the elderly. Unfortunately, our culture is increasingly accepting
the idea of physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia.
